Job summary

Gfoat in Ennis, TX is seeking a Sanitation Worker under general supervision to collect and remove solid waste and coordinate with Sanitation Drivers on routes. Responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation of City equipment and loads solid waste into department vehicles.
• Follow scheduled routes and safely navigate City streets while performing refuse and solid waste pickups and coordinate with Sanitation Drivers on completion of assigned route.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment; perform special assignments for refuse collection as directed by supervisor.
• Follow all safety regulations while riding with Sanitation Drivers and in loading and unloading waste and refuse from department vehicles.
• Perform refuse dumping at assigned locations and follow all TCEQ, OSHA, EPA, road, and safety regulations in performance of assignment and operation of equipment.
• Coordinate with landfill personnel for removal of waste and refuse in department equipment.
• Respond and interact with the public in completion of duties, answer questions, and assist with special refuse or waste assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Has frequent contact with employees, citizens, local state, federal agencies, and other city departments.
• Ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance.
