JOB TITLE: PM Food Safety Quality Leader

BASE RATE PER HOUR: $28.75

SHIFT: 2nd

HOURS: Generally, starts as early as 1:45 PM until finish. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Working role that coordinates and assists the Manager in the Food Safety Quality (FSQ) department. Performs and completes tasks associated with equipment cleaners. Manages the plant documentation systems, including quality system documents and serves as a SQF practitioner. Supports internal audits, inspections, microbiological testing, and corrective/preventive actions. Investigates nonconforming product incidents and consumer complaints, conducts root cause analysis, and leads corrective actions. Supervises sanitation activities of equipment and facility.

Principle Accountabilities
  • 75% Manage and lead FSQ department responsibilities
  • 25% Support EMP and Sensory programs
Key Duties
  • Supervise equipment cleaners and part-time personnel
  • Assess and coach employee performance; conduct reviews
  • Learn and perform equipment cleaning tasks
  • Analyze sanitation issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain sanitation records and procedures
  • Assist in disciplinary actions and communicate with team
  • Coordinate with other departments and ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP standards
  • Manage quality records and lead internal audits
  • Support environmental testing and investigate quality incidents
  • In absence of FSQ PM Leader, assume sanitation responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities

Lead FSQ department employees, including covering for vacations and days off, in accordance with policies and laws.

Competencies

Require analytical skills, computer proficiency (SAP, Word, Excel), delegation, communication, mathematical skills, multi-tasking, planning, reasoning, safety awareness, and written communication skills.

Education & Experience

Preferred: Associate degree and two years related experience, microbiology experience preferred.

Certificates & Licenses

Preferred: SQF or AIB certification, Six Sigma training, pest control knowledge.

Physical & Work Environment

Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work near moving machinery. Work environment includes exposure to chemicals, noise, temperature extremes, and wet conditions. Overtime may be required.

This position requires passing a physical and licensing. Vacation and employment duration are subject to company policies. A 90-day performance review applies, with a one-year minimum employment requirement.
