Job summary

Menasha Packaging Company is hiring a Sanitation Lead to enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards across the facility. You will inspect equipment, oversee cleaning operations, maintain the master sanitation schedule, and train sanitation workers.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene standards.
  • Oversee cleaning and sanitation operations to ensure proper execution.
  • Maintain the master sanitation schedule.
  • Train sanitation workers and document training processes.
  • Monitor chemical use to prevent hazards.
  • Coordinate cleaning with sanitation and maintenance teams.
  • Keep detailed records of sanitation activities and issues.
  • Evaluate sanitation processes and propose improvements to Quality Supervisor.
  • Maintain audit readiness to meet SQF and customer requirements.

About The Opportunity

Sanitation Lead
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with established food safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Inspect manufacturing equipment to ensure compliance with established sanitation, hygiene, and food safety standards.
  • Manage and oversee cleaning and sanitation operations in the facility to ensure proper execution of sanitation activities.
  • Maintain the master sanitation schedule.
  • Train sanitation workers on an ongoing basis and document all training processes and procedures properly.
  • Monitor the mixing and use of chemicals to prevent misuse and hazards to personnel and property.
  • Coordinate and execute cleaning or area cleaning with a team of sanitation and maintenance.
  • Keeps detailed records of all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections and violations, also noting how and when each situation was resolved.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of sanitation processes and practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to the Quality Supervisor regarding necessary enhancements or modifications.
  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure sanitation practices meet established SQF and customer requirements to support successful audit outcomes and passing scores.

Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or training in warehouse or production sanitation

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed

The expected salary range for this position is $21.50/hour. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
