Job summary

Lassonde Pappas & Co., Inc in Seabrook, New Jersey seeks a Sanitization Technician I to perform daily sanitation operations, uphold food safety and quality standards, and support a safe, efficient production environment in compliance with OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF, and GMP. The starting hourly rate is $21.67/hr.

Second shift adds $0.35/hr, third shift $0.45/hr. Medical insurance is offered through Local Union 152.

Qualifications

  • Must successfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to Read and Write.
  • Work in a safe manner following all PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks (Master Cleaning Schedule).
  • Follow all sanitation safety and food safety guidelines.
  • Support Production CIP projects.
  • Complete all associated documents related to task per facility requirements.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and PIT equipment.
  • Taste test products as needed, up to a few ounces per test.

Position Summary

The Sanitization Technician I reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for performing all sanitation operations, and conducting food safety, and quality procedures of the plant to ensure a safe, efficient, productive, and positive work environment. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations, and laws addressing occupational safety (OSHA) and food safety and food quality (FDA) in addition to environmental safety (EPA) in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The starting hourly rate for this position is $21.67/hr.

2nd shift is eligible for a $0.35/hr shift differential.

3rd shift is eligible for a $0.45/hr shift differential.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Education And Experience

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

FREQUENT

Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

OCCASIONAL

Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

VISION

Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

HEARING

Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
