Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Team member at the Waterford Plant to maintain sanitation across manufacturing and non‑production areas. The role includes operating power washers and a forklift/scissor lift, following GMPs, and maintaining sanitation logs.

It involves cleaning equipment and facilities, offices, hallways, and break rooms, with snow removal as needed. Shifts include 12‑hour weekends and 10‑hour nights/days, with a starting rate of $17.90 per hour plus $2 night

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with use of power-washing equipment and chemical cleaning is a plus.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures, fumes, moving parts, loud noises, allergens, heights and hot surfaces.
• Knowledge of counting and basic math.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with essential duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to read and comprehend written material.
• Ability to listen to and understand information presented verbally.

Responsibilities

• Sanitation team member responsible for production and non-production areas of the plant.

$2,500 Hiring Bonus

Hiring bonus will be paid in two installments of 50% each through the payroll system, the first paid after 90‑days employment and the second paid after120‑days of employment. Please note these earnings will be subject to withholdings applicable to bonus compensation.

Weekend 12 hr. - (6am-6pm) & (6pm - 6am) (Fri‑Sat‑Sun = works 36 hr. but paid 40)

Mon‑Thurs 10 hr. - Nights - 11pm-9am or Days 7am-5pm

Hourly Starting Rate - $17.90/Hr ($2.00 shift premiums for nights)

The Sanitation Team member is responsible for production and non‑production areas of the plant, as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), working to prevent product contamination and adulteration, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety.

This individual will work on all aspect of cleaning from the ceilings to the floor and will be trained to operate a forklift and a scissor lift. Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all manufacturing equipment and will use chemicals and power washers to ensure cleanliness, maintain necessary records and sanitation cleaning logs. May also be required to clean office areas, hallways, locker rooms and break rooms, to include cleanup of trash and vacuum carpets. Clean up outside grounds as needed and snow removal in walkways to the plant. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with the use of industrial power‑washing equipment and chemical cleaning a plus, and/or janitorial services cleaning.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes exposure to: High temperatures, fumes or airborne particles; Moving mechanical parts and vibration; Loud noise levels; Allergens; Elevated heights and Hot surfaces.
