Job summary

Shearer's Foods in Waterford, Pennsylvania, seeks a Sanitation Team Member to maintain cleanliness in production and non-production areas, following GMP and Food Safety standards.

The role involves cleaning ceilings to floors, operating a forklift/scissor lift training as needed, and performing snow removal in walkways. Starting rate is $17.90/hr with a $2.00 night premium, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus paid in two installments after 90 and 120 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with power-washing equipment and chemical cleaning is a plus.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, fumes or airborne particles; moving parts; loud noise; allergens.
• Knowledge of counting and basic math.
• Ability to read and comprehend written material.
• Ability to listen to and understand information presented orally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning of all manufacturing areas, equipment, and facilities following the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Operate or be trained to operate a forklift and a scissor lift as needed.
• Clean ceilings to floors and secure sanitation cleaning logs and records.
• Support office areas, hallways, locker rooms, and break rooms cleaning; trash removal and carpet vacuuming.
• Snow removal from walkways and outside grounds as required.

(Hiring bonus will be paid in two installments of 50% each through the payroll system, the first paid after 90-days employment and the second paid after120-days of employment. Please note these earnings will be subject to withholdings applicable to bonus compensation).

Mon-Thurs 10 hr. - Nights - 11pm-9am or Days 7am-5pm

Hourly Starting Rate - $17.90/Hr ($2.00 shift premiums for nights)

The Sanitation Team member is responsible for production and non-production areas of the plant, as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), working to prevent product contamination and adulteration, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety.

This individual will work on all aspect of cleaning from the ceilings to the floor and will be trained to operate a forklift and a scissor lift. Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all manufacturing equipment and will use chemicals and power washers to ensure cleanliness, maintain necessary records and sanitation cleaning logs. May also be required to clean office areas, hallways, locker rooms and break rooms, to include cleanup of trash and vacuum carpets. Clean up outside grounds as needed and snow removal in walkways to the plant. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with the use of industrial power-washing equipment and chemical cleaning a plus, and/or janitorial services cleaning.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes exposure to: High temperatures, fumes or airborne particles; Moving mechanical parts and vibration; Loud noise levels; Allergens; Elevated heights and Hot surfaces.

• Knowledge of counting and basic math

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential duties and responsibilities

• Ability to read and comprehend written material

• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
