Job summary

Stone Ground Bakery and Wheat Montana Bakery and Deli is seeking a Sanitation Technician to maintain food safety across the Montana bakery production areas. You will clean surfaces and floors, sanitize equipment and lines, and support cleanliness in offices and surrounding grounds.

The job requires lifting up to 50 lbs, wearing PPE, and working from various heights. You will follow IFS and GMPs and our Bakery safety policies, communicating effectively in English with the team and leadership.

Qualifications

• Able to bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods during sanitation tasks.
• Must wear appropriate PPE in a bakery environment.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs intermittently.
• Able to communicate effectively in English with team members and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bakery work areas, surfaces, and floors.
• Sanitize equipment and production lines; assist during product changeovers.
• Remove waste from production, offices, and staff areas; restock supplies as needed.
• Perform weekly chemical inventory and janitorial supply checks; log waste as required.

With a commitment to excellence and a passion for baking, we strive to delight our customers with delicious products that bring joy to every occasion.Purpose and Scope of Position:As a Sanitation Technician, you will be responsible for the sanitation of the bakery production areas and the upkeep of the grounds/offices of the facility, to maintain the highest level of food safety in the bakery. Our Sanitation Technicians adhere to all sanitation standards established by IFS and Food Safety Policies and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and our Bakery’s Safety Policies.Duties and Responsibilities:Clean work areas and bakery areas, including all work surfaces and floors, Assist operators with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and production lines.Remove waste from production, office, and staff amenities.Restock paper towels, soap, hairnets, gloves, and remote wash basin reservoirs.Perform Post Maintenance cleanings as needed.Collaborate with operators and ensure production lines are thoroughly cleaned during product changeovers.Identify and clean slip hazards in production areas during shift.Check in periodically with Packaging & Production Leads to see if supplies are needed.Check in periodically with Packaging & Production Leads to see if Racks or Pan stacks need to be moved to different areas.Perform weekly chemical inventory cycle counts.Perform weekly Janitorial Supply cycle counts.Make Waste Log entries for any product you dispose of.Maintain clean exterior building perimeters.Monitor & wipe down condensation in proofing areas.Cleaning of racks, pipes, and overhead fixtures/beams.Other duties assigned to you by your Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to bend, stoop, stand for extended periods while cleaning equipment and spacesAbility to properly wear appropriate PPE when in the bakeryAbility to lift and move up to 50lbs intermittentlyAbility to work from various heightsWork with a high degree of accuracy and precisionAbility to meet deadlines with limited supervisionAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English to effectively communicate with team members and leadershipEffectively independently with minimal supervision and work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.Ability to learn and adapt to new challenges and scenarios.Experience and Education Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age to work with chemicals, work around hot and noisy equipment, and unusual work shiftsMust be fluent in English as a primary or secondary language to effectively communication with leadership and other team members0-2+ years related experience, previous experience in sanitation preferred
