Job summary

The Campbell's Company in Beloit, WI is seeking a Sanitation Technician to support the Sanitation Team, train new and current employees, and ensure proper sanitation procedures and PPE usage are followed.

You will monitor chemical usage, update SOPs, assist in plant cleaning, and participate in safety training. Requires a High School Diploma and at least 3 years in a food-processing sanitation role; overtime may be required on a rotating 2nd shift, with Sundays work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with a minimum of 3 years in a food processing sanitation/quality role.
• AIB-type courses and pest control certification preferred.
• Ability to operate sanitation equipment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists in distributing workload to the Sanitation Team and Operation Sanitation Team as defined by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Responsible for tracking and training of new and existing employees on proper sanitation procedures and safety training.
• Maintains proper function of sanitation equipment and PPE, as well as ensuring inventories of PPE are kept available at all times.
• Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include lift truck, scissors lift, power washer, foam applicators, and various non-mechanized equipment.
• Follows safety rules including safe lifting, lock out/tag out, proper PPE, and SDS compliance.
• Assists in plant cleaning as described by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of the plant.
• Participates in safety training and plant initiatives.
• Performs other duties as directed.
• Where applicable, in absence of Supervisor, responsible for pre-op or post sanitation inspections.
• Must be capable of performing the work of a Sanitation Technician.
• Monitors and documents chemical usage; mixes/handles chemical concentrates; inputs into Excel.
• Creates/Updates Standard Operating Procedures.

LOCATION:

BASE RATE PER HOUR:

$24.75

SHIFT:

2nd - Rotating 7-2-3-2 (Work EVERY Sunday)

HOURS:

Generally, starts as early as 2:45 PM - 11:00 PM with overtime on an as needed basis based on business needs. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.

Job Summary/ Job Duties

• Maintains proper function of sanitation equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as, assuring the adequate inventories of PPE are kept available at all times.
• Utilizes powered cleaning equipment that may include lift truck, scissors lift, power washer, foam applicators, automatic compactors and various non-mechanized equipment.
• Follows safety rules including but not limited to safe lifting, lock out/tag out wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), following l Safety Data Sheets, proper disassembly and reassembly of equipment.
• Assists in plant cleaning as described by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of the plant.
• Participates in all necessary safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives.
• Performs other job related projects, duties and assignments as directed.
• Where applicable and in absence of the Supervisor, the employee is responsible for pre-op or post sanitation inspections.
• Must be capable of performing the work of a Sanitation Technician.
• Monitors, tracks, and documents chemical usage within the plant.
• Mixes/Handles chemical concentrates.
• Inputs chemical concentrates in to excel.
• Creates/Updates Standard Operating Procedures.
• Mandatory overtime may be required.
• May perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma; a minimum of 3 years in a food processing manufacturing environment working within Sanitation/Quality is required. A minimum of 3 years' experience, AIB-type courses and certificates and pest control certification preferred.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office areas but loud and hearing protection is required in the plant. While performing some of the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat or cold.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
