Job summary

Mars is hiring a Sanitation Coordinator to manage daily to annual sanitation tasks in line with the master sanitation schedule. The role ensures sanitary conditions meet Quality and Food Safety standards, with a Sunday-Wednesday shift from 6am to 4:30pm in a Kentucky facility.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in manufacturing, supervisory experience preferred, and strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP and related safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years manufacturing experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC.
  • Effective problem solving, communication skills, and decision making.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the company’s health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment
  • Provide input on decisions according to food safety.
  • Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMP's.
  • Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues, through communication with each operator, knowing shift production plans and awareness of area.
  • Promote high quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.
  • Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within their area.
  • Understands production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.
  • Detailed cleaning of large areas and work spaces.
  • Detailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of microbiological and pest control as it pertains to a food manufacturing environment. • The ability to work with all Teams at the site on Sanitation, Pest Control and Housekeeping projects.
  • The ability to work in enclosed spaces.
  • The desire to work as an interactive team in a plant setting.
  • When assigned to a specific operation area, complete all duties associated with that assignment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, with particular attention to lock out/tag out procedures. Complete required documentation.
  • Assist the plant to meet or exceed production goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by Manager.

Job Description:

The Sanitation Coordinator will be responsible for completing daily, weekly, monthly and annual sanitation tasks in compliance with the sites master sanitation schedule.

The associate will evaluate and maintain the sanitary conditions of the facility in accordance with Quality and Food Safety standards.

Shift: Sunday - Wednesday (6am - 4:30pm)

What are we looking for?

  • Be 18 years of age or older

  • Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education

  • Minimum of three years manufacturing experience. Prior sanitation or quality experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • Working Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC

  • Effective problem solving, communication skills, and decision making

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of working at elevated heights

  • Must be capable of working in confined spaces

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively

  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust, dirt, and chemicals
