Job summary

Mars UK is seeking a Sanitation Coordinator to execute daily, weekly, monthly and annual sanitation tasks per the master schedule. The role ensures sanitary conditions align with Quality and Food Safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

The position requires 3+ years in manufacturing, familiarity with GMP/HACCP, and strong problem solving and teamwork, with the possibility of supervisory responsibilities. Shift is Sunday-Wednesday, 6am-4:30pm on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years in manufacturing; sanitation/quality preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP and SPC.
• Strong problem solving, communication and decision making.

• Maintain high levels of daily cleanliness and site GMP adherence.
• Prioritize daily work by communicating with operators and understanding shift plans.

• Assist plant in meeting production goals and support cross-functional teams.
• Understand production schedules related to shutdowns and clean large areas/equipment.

Job Description:

The Sanitation Coordinator will be responsible for completing daily, weekly, monthly and annual sanitation tasks in compliance with the sites master sanitation schedule.

The associate will evaluate and maintain the sanitary conditions of the facility in accordance with Quality and Food Safety standards.

Shift: Sunday - Wednesday (6am - 4:30pm)

What are we looking for?

• Be 18 years of age or older

• Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education

• Minimum of three years manufacturing experience. Prior sanitation or quality experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred.

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

• Working Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC

• Effective problem solving, communication skills, and decision making

Physical Requirements

• Must be capable of working at elevated heights

• Must be capable of working in confined spaces

• Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively

• Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust, dirt, and chemicals

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Support and promote the company’s health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment

• Provide input on decisions according to food safety.

• Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMP's.

• Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues, through communication with each operator, knowing shift production plans and awareness of area.

• Promote high quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.

• Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within their area.

• Understands production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.

• Detailed cleaning of large areas and work spaces.

• Detailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipment.

• Understanding of microbiological and pest control as it pertains to a food manufacturing environment. The ability to work with all Teams at the site on Sanitation, Pest Control and Housekeeping projects.

• The ability to work in enclosed spaces.

• The desire to work as an interactive team in a plant setting.

• When assigned to a specific operation area, complete all duties associated with that assignment in a safe and efficient manner.

• Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, with particular attention to lock out/tag out procedures. Complete required documentation.

• Assist the plant to meet or exceed production goals.

• Other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by Manager.
