Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking a Sanitation Coordinator to ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual sanitation tasks align with the master sanitation schedule. The role focuses on maintaining sanitary conditions in line with Quality and Food Safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of manufacturing experience, and supervisory exposure. Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SPC and GHOP is valued for this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years manufacturing experience.
  • Prior sanitation or quality experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of food safety: GMP, HACCP, SPC and GHOP desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the company's health and safety program, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Assist areas in maintaining daily cleanliness and GMP adherence.
  • Prioritize daily work by communicating with operators and aligning with production plans.
  • Perform sanitation duties per the Master Sanitation Schedule and document activities.
  • Assist plant to meet or exceed production goals.
  • Detailed cleaning of large areas and manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with pest control and housekeeping teams as needed.

Job Description

The Sanitation Coordinator will be responsible for completing daily, weekly, monthly and annual sanitation tasks in compliance with the sites master sanitation schedule.

The associate will evaluate and maintain the sanitary conditions of the facility in accordance with Quality and Food Safety standards.

What are we looking for?
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Minimum of three years manufacturing experience. Prior sanitation or quality experience in a food manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working Knowledge of food safety, GMP, GHOP, HACCP, SPC
  • Effective problem solving, communication skills, and decision making
Physical Requirements
  • Must be capable of working at elevated heights
  • Must be capable of working in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively
  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust, dirt, and chemicals
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Support and promote the company's health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment
  • Provide input on decisions according to food safety.
  • Responsible for assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMP's.
  • Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues, through communication with each operator, knowing shift production plans and awareness of area.
  • Promote high quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.
  • Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within their area.
  • Understands production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.
  • Detailed cleaning of large areas and work spaces.
  • Detailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of microbiological and pest control as it pertain to a food manufacturing environment. The ability to work with all Teams at the site on Sanitation, Pest Control and Housekeeping projects.
  • The ability to work in enclosed spaces.
  • The desire to work as an interactive team in a plant setting.
  • When assigned to a specific operation area, complete all duties associated with that assignment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, with particular attention to lock out/tag out procedures. Complete required documentation.
  • Assist the plant to meet or exceed production goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by Manager.
