River Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX is seeking a Sanitation Attendant to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards across the property. The role involves collecting, transporting, and disposing of waste, maintaining equipment, and supporting club operations to ensure a sanitary environment for members, guests, and staff.

Candidates should have a valid driver's license and be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds as needed.

• Experience in hospitality, club, hotel, or similar setting preferred.

Description

The Sanitation Attendant plays an important role in in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards of River Oaks Country Club. This position is responsible for the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste throughout the property, as well as maintaining sanitation equipment, compactor areas, loading docks, and other designated workspaces. The Sanitation Driver Attendant supports the overall operation of the Club by helping ensure a clean and sanitary environment for members, guests, and employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and remove waste and recyclables from designated areas throughout the property
• Safely load, transport, and unload waste containers and materials
• Operate waste collection vehicles and transport materials to designated disposal locations
• Operate trash compactors and related equipment in accordance with established safety procedures
• Clean and sanitize waste containers, loading dock areas, compactor stations, and sanitation equipment
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of sanitation storage areas and assigned workspaces
• Assist with general cleanliness in kitchens, storerooms, and other operational areas as needed
• Support food and beverage, stewarding, and other Club departments with operational tasks as assigned
• Promptly report equipment, safety, or sanitation concerns to management
• Follow all Club safety, sanitation, and workplace policies and procedures

Qualifications and Personal Characteristics

• Valid driver's license with the ability to safely operate trucks, carts, and other Club vehicles
• Previous experience as a steward, porter, dishwasher, sanitation attendant, or similar position in a hotel, private club, restaurant, or hospitality environment preferred
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling, cleaning procedures, and sanitation practices preferred
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold temperatures

Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness

Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance
