Job summary

Schwan's is hiring for a sanitation technician on the 2nd shift (6 PM–6 AM). Starting pay $19.50 per hour, plus $1.50 shift differential from 6 PM to 6 AM. This full‑time role is in a food manufacturing environment with opportunities for advancement.

You will operate steam and high‑pressure hoses to clean equipment, follow sanitation schedules, document chemical use, and verify that cleaning passes micro tests. OSHA/GMP compliance and basic maintenance of equipment are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 0–1 year of related experience in sanitation or food manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures and safety standards (OSHA, GMPs).
• Ability to follow regulatory, customer and company sanitation policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam and high‑pressure hoses to sanitize equipment and facilities.
• Clean disassembled equipment using COP tank cleaning with proper concentrations.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as directed and document cleaning.
• Follow sanitation schedules and document routine cleaning of facility and production line.
• Document chemical usage and verify concentrations and complete sanitation tests.

What You Will Do:

• Operate steam and high-pressure hoses while safely cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility to ensure all soil and contaminates are removed per procedures.
• Operating COP tank cleaning equipment to clean disassembled equipment.
• Disassembling and reassembling equipment as directed.
• Following sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line.
• Using and documenting chemical use to stated concentrations and for appropriate applications.
• Verifying and documenting that correct chemicals and concentrations are used and that cleaning and sanitizing is complete to deliver equipment and infrastructure that is clean and passes all micro indicator tests.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 0--1 year of related experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures and compliance with safety standards (OSHA, local, state, and federal) and GMPs.
• Ability to follow regulatory, customer, and company sanitation policies and procedures.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including hot/cold and wet/dry areas.
• Flexible availability to work full-time, overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as required.
