Job summary

Atlas Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Associate for a food production facility.

You will clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery and work areas to maintain food safety and sanitation standards, with hands-on cleaning and palletizing of finished products to support production operations. This is a physically demanding role requiring standing, bending, lifting, and working in wet, hot, humid conditions for extended periods.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in industrial cleaning or food production sanitation.
• Experience with CIP/COP sanitation procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize production machinery, equipment, floors and areas per food safety procedures.
• Perform CIP/COP sanitation and routine cleaning.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and PPE; report sanitation concerns promptly.
• Stack finished products on pallets and apply shrink wrap for transport.
• Verify labels and complete finished goods documentation; assist production as needed.

Atlas Staffing is hiring a Sanitation Associate for a food production facility. This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, machinery, and work areas to maintain food safety and sanitation standards. The role involves hands‑on sanitation and cleaning, and palletizing finished products and supporting production operations.

This is a physically demanding position that requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and working in wet, hot, and humid conditions for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities

Sanitation & Cleaning

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize production machinery, equipment, floors, and designated work areas according to established food safety procedures.
• Perform scheduled machine sanitation and cleaning, including Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-out-of-Place (COP) procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals, sanitation tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and effectively.
• Remove product residue, debris, and buildup from production equipment and surrounding areas.
• Follow sanitation schedules and established procedures to ensure equipment and facilities meet cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Inspect cleaned equipment and work areas to verify sanitation requirements have been met.
• Maintain clean and orderly production areas throughout the shift.
• Identify and report sanitation concerns, equipment issues, or potential food safety hazards to the supervisor.

Production Support

• Stack finished products neatly and securely on pallets.
• Apply shrink wrap to stabilize pallets for forklift transport.
• Verify product labels are accurate and legible and complete finished goods documentation.
• Assist production associates with maintaining efficient workflow as needed.
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors regarding production needs, concerns, and safety issues.
• Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is an active, physically demanding position—not a sedentary job

• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and stretch while cleaning equipment and production areas.
• Perform repetitive scrubbing, wiping, rinsing, and other manual cleaning tasks.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning supplies, equipment, and production materials as required.
• Work in wet, hot, humid, and potentially slippery environments.
• Work around production machinery, cleaning chemicals, water, and sanitation equipment while following all safety procedures.
• Wear required PPE and protective clothing during sanitation activities.
• Maintain a consistent pace while completing detailed cleaning tasks and meeting sanitation schedules.

Qualifications

Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in industrial cleaning, food production sanitation, machine operations, or palletizing preferred.
• Experience with CIP/COP sanitation procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation practices, or food safety procedures is beneficial.
