Job summary

Charlie's Produce is seeking a dedicated warehouse/cleaning associate to support our largest privately owned produce wholesale operation on the West Coast. You will perform general housekeeping in a refrigerated warehouse, operate a forklift to manage waste, and assist with daily SQF inspections and HACCP compliance.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in cold environments, and read/write English for safety logs.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated environments.
• Experience with cleaning equipment and safety standards.
• Must read/write English for logs and safety forms.
• Pre-employment drug test required.
• 1 year warehouse or janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping in warehouse, including sweeping and debris cleanup.
• Operate forklift to unload trash and manage waste.
• Maintain daily SQF inspection log and HACCP documentation.
• Communicate issues to QA and Food Safety Officer.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for general housekeeping including but not limited to sweeping floors, cleaning up debris around the warehouse, cleaning up standing water, breaking down boxes and recycle, scheduled cleaning of freezer ,ripening chambers, restrooms and lunchroom, using a forklift to empty garbage and check for pest control issues. Responsible for the completion of the daily SQF inspection log. Must be able to work independently and communicate issues.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities:

Position requires performing any combination of the following job duties:

• Able to lift up to 70lbs, 35-50 on average
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment up to 85% of the time
• Safe use of industrial grade cleaners
• Ability to wear latex and rubber gloves as needed
• Work closely with the QA and Food Safety Officer on maintaining HACCP standards
• Use of cleaning equipment, mops, brooms, sponges, scrubbers, etc.
• Ability to read, write and speak English adequately enough to accurately maintain food safety
• Able to lift up to 70lbs, 35-50 on average
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment up to 85% of the time

Qualifications

• Able to read and speak English
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment 36 - degrees
• Ability to work in freezer environment with below zero temperatures (gear provided) for up to 30 minutes at a time
• 1-year previous warehouse or janitorial experience preferred
• Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
• Must be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug test
