Job summary

Charlie's Produce is seeking a Sanitation Associate to join our on-site facility and maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and processing areas. The role requires regular attendance and adherence to sanitation standards and safety rules.

You will perform custodial tasks, clean and sanitize equipment and floors, and help with daily sanitation logs. This position offers pay of $22–$26 per hour with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to learn and follow sanitation procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties throughout the facility including cleaning, mopping, and trash disposal.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in production areas and assist with equipment cleaning.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and help with daily sanitation logs.
• Report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Support removal of compost and keep restrooms clean as needed.

Job Description

The Sanitation Associate is an on-site position that requires regular attendance at the facility. This role is responsible forgeneral custodial care of the facility and sanitation activities of the warehouse under general supervision. The Sanitation Associate will perform all duties safely, accurately, and meet all set productivity goals. Techniciansare responsible forcleaning an industrial kitchen and food processing facility. This position requires workers to perform any combination of the following tasks tomaintainsanitary work area of food production facility: cleaning of floor of production area by removing garbage, moving floor mats, picking up food items, and tearing empty cardboard boxes, handling dishes from kitchen.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

Perform all custodial duties throughout the entire facility which includes dusting, sweeping, washing, wiping, scrubbing, shoveling, and mopping. Often required to climb ladders to perform these duties

Pre-rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment according to company standards

Maintain sanitary conditions in the facility to include collection and disposal of all warehouse and facility trash or debris daily and clean up all spills

Oversee andassistwith removal of compost throughout the day

Comprehension of Approved Chemicals and SDS Sheets

Ensures entire plant is clean,sanitizedand free of all product residue and debris

Strive to prevent accidents by following proper chemical and workplace safety practices

Report on all equipment issuestoMaintenance

Clean cooler and cooler floor sweeps and mops coolers, dry warehouse, all aisles, and the equipment mezzanine including slot cleaning

Scrub floors in aisle areas of the dry warehouse, cooler areas, and docks

Preserve floor care using power equipment in assigned areas

Maintain parking lots and front sidewalks every week or as needed tomaintainappearance

Remove trash or other property damaging elements

Complete daily sanitation log to provide documentation for the planning and evaluation of sanitation activities

Dust and vacuum warehouse racks

Clean any/all restrooms when needed tomaintainsanitary conditions. This includes the cleaning of urinals, toilets, sinks, counters and countertops, mirrors, sweeping and mopping of floors, and restocking paper dispensers

Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles

Maintain the accuracy of warehouse product locations when performing slot cleaning

Report to the supervisorimmediatelyany unfixable/unsafe issues

Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries

Operateappropriate materialhandling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe and orderly manner to reduce accidents and injuries

Ensure that material handling equipment ismaintained(inspected daily) and clean, report repair or service needs to supervisor to reduce equipment damage

Understand andcomply withall applicable company policies (i.e., attendance, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.)

Complieswithall applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e., OSHA, HACCP, AIB, etc.)

Qualifications

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be able to lift, up to 50lbs

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift throughout shift

Ability to learn, understands, and consistently follows sanitation procedures and methods

Must have schedule flexibility and be available for overtime and weekends. Can work overtime to meet production and sanitation deadlines

Must be able to work with minimal supervision
