Job summary

Melrosehoteldc is seeking a dedicated kitchen/dishwasher associate to support dining operations. You will operate the dish machine, wash glasses and dishes, and help keep the kitchen clean and organized to provide a great guest experience.

The role requires flexibility for varying shifts, physical stamina for lifting and standing, and the ability to work well within a team. Join us to contribute to smooth banquet and dining service at our hotel.

What you will be doing

• Use established guidelines to correctively utilize and maintain dish machine. Wash glasses and dishes in standard dish rack.
• Wash pots and pans only in the pot washer's area.
• Ensure that all cleaning is performed that is required to keep the kitchen neat and clean at all times; this includes sweeping up broken glass/dishes and mopping up any spills.
• Empty full and heavy trash cans. Make sure they are sprayed and sanitized after each use. Place new trash bags in the container after each cleaning.
• Follow all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) protocols, as well as Safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties in other areas of Kitchen as assigned, including assisting with plating banquet events when needed.

Hourly Rate: $18

• Ability to work in a standard office environment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)
• Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
• Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
