Job summary

Rise Baking Company, LLC in Lancaster, NY is seeking a full-time sanitation aide to support our sanitation food safety program. You will focus on cleaning plant equipment and the building to meet FDA and OSHA policies and food safety standards.

The role includes basic washing tasks, equipment disassembly for cleaning, following SSOPs, reporting safety and quality concerns, and working in a fast-paced bakery environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year minimum in kitchen cleaning or 1 year in a food plant as a sanitor cleaning equipment/machines.
• Basic knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps.
• Basic knowledge of top down washing sequence for proper food safety.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation chemical usage.
• Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic wash area duties including running a pan washer and cleaning utensils.
• Disassemble/setup for cleaning plant equipment and piping.
• Complete cleaning tasks per SSOPs.
• Identify equipment needing deep cleaning and address accordingly.
• Use chemicals safely to perform cleaning tasks.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $19.50 Hourly

Job Purpose

Support the company’s sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, FDA and OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic wash area duties including running a pan washer, cleaning utensils by hand when needed, etc.
• Perform basic machine disassembly/setup for cleaning (e.g., covers, piping, cover electrical with plastic)
• Complete cleaning tasks per SSOPs
• Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning
• Properly use chemicals to effectively and safely perform cleaning tasks
• Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel
• Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
