Job summary

Palmer Candy Company in Sioux City, IA seeks a 2nd shift Sanitation Team Member for our Bluff St facility. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday with late hours 4:30 PM–3:00 AM, and potential schedule changes based on business needs.

Primary duties include sanitation of facilities, machines, and equipment to maintain product quality and safety. Ability to operate sanitation tools and lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Prior sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Great attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Standing for long periods.
• Lift up to 40–50 pounds occasionally and 25–30 pounds frequently.
• Regular attendance required.
• Ability to climb ladders and work above shoulder level.

Responsibilities

• Operate sanitation equipment and tools.
• Prepare sanitation supplies/chemicals safely.
• Clean and sanitize manufacturing areas and packaging equipment.
• Check equipment meets health and safety regulations.
• Manage recycling and waste removal.
• Learn to use pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Maintain acceptable standards of conduct.
• Interact with all plant functions and levels.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Execute other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Palmer Candy is looking for a 2ndshift SanitationTeam Member at our Bluff St facility.

2nd shift will work Monday-Friday.Monday-Thursday hours are 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM with Friday and Saturday hours possibly being scheduled due to business needs.

Team Member’s will be notified by plant management if schedules were to change outside of the times listed above.

Overall Purpose:

Sanitation of facilities, machines and production equipment to ensure that our products are being produced with good quality in a safe, secure and sanitary manner within the appropriate specifications outlined by company managers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ability to operate sanitation equipment and tools.


• Prepare Sanitation Supplies/Chemicals safely and correctly.


• Cleaning/Sanitizing (regular wash and allergen wash) of manufacturing areas and packaging machines and equipment.


• Check equipment to ensure that it meets health and safety regulations.


• Managing recycling and waste removal.


• Ability to learn how to use pallet jacks or forklifts.


• Ability to maintain acceptable standards of conduct.


• Ability to interact with all functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.


• Regular and timely attendance is required for this job.


• Other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management.
