Maola Local Dairies is hiring for a 2nd shift Sanitation role in Newport News, VA. The position is on-site, full-time, with hours 12:00pm-8:30pm, and pay at $18.00 per hour. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

The worker will clean the plant using various chemicals and equipment and must follow GMPs and safety policies. Responsibilities include cleaning production areas, operating cleaning tools like power scrubbers, and maintaining cleanliness of machines and tanks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of plant grounds and equipment.
• Utilize cleaning equipment and chemicals safely (power scrubbers, foamers).
• Operate electric pallet jacks; assist with loading/unloading as needed.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties on walls, ceilings, floors, drains, and production equipment.
• Ensure proper stock of supplies and dispose of trash/recycling regularly.
• Follow GMPs, safety policies, wear PPE, and report hazards.

SUMMARY

The Sanitation worker is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the Plant grounds. Required to properly use various chemicals and cleaning agents, as well as specialized cleaning equipment following all safety policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Appropriately utilizes assigned cleaning equipment and chemicals, including power scrubbers and foamers, to clean and sanitize general areas within Plant facility.
• Ability to operate electric pallet jacks and bailing machines.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties including washing walls, ceilings, floors, drains, pipes, production equipment, and other areas assigned by supervisor.
• Maintains cleanliness of all machines, equipment, tanks, and assigned areas.
• Stocks and maintains designated areas with supplies; fills dispensers as needed.
• Responsible for removing trash/recycling, debris, and obstructions ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the Plant.
• Monitors for potential hazards and notifies supervisor or manager of any deficiencies or issues as they arise. Safely and quickly works to eliminate any occurrences as directed by leadership.
• Follows GMPs and all safety and health policies and regulations; wears proper PPE.
• May assist with special projects and completes other duties as assigned.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Perform basic math skills.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or International Education Equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
