Job summary

Ventura Foods is seeking a sanitation team member in Saint Joseph, MO. The role focuses on cleaning production and receiving areas, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards to deliver safe, high-quality products.

Responsibilities include cleaning production lines, tanks, and filters; supporting daily sanitation and training, and complying with GMP, FSMA, and quality policies. Onsite work with potential for growth and job stability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in sanitation, preferably in a food manufacturing facility.
• Must be able to read and perform math calculations and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean production equipment, including removing and reassembling parts; clean overhead pipes and conveyors.
• Clean tanks, vats, and replace or clean filters as needed.
• Maintain daily sanitation tasks and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Clean floors with sanitation chemicals and manage waste disposal.
• Participate in training of new hires and transfers.
• Follow GMP, safety, quality policies, FSMA and Preventive Controls.

Sanitation

Location: Saint Joseph, MO, US, 64504

Position Summary

To keep all production and receiving areas clean by cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, and maintaining the areas in accordance with approved quality and sanitation procedures. To maintain equipment and comply with food safety regulations to provide safe quality product to our customers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean lint, dust, oil, and grease from all production equipment, removing parts as needed and putting the equipment back together for all production lines. Also responsible for cleaning overhead pipes, and conveyors.
• Clean all processing tanks and vats, as well as cleaning or changing out filters as required.
• Assist with maintaining daily operational production efficiency and sanitation duties. Assist with maintenance of all sanitation related equipment.
• Clean floor using sanitation chemicals as required, transporting trash and other waste to the disposal area.
• Actively participate in the training of new hires and/or transfers.
• Complete all required paperwork, accurately and timely.
• Comply with all GMP, Safety Procedures, Company Policies, Quality Policies, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points as they apply to this position.
• Operate forklift or hand lift to transport materials as needed.
• Communicate problems or concerns with appropriate personnel.
• Responsible for following all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls.
• Other duties as required.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• 1 year of experience
• Prior sanitation experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Must possess good reading and math skills to accurately perform the requirements of the job.
• Mechanical aptitude, good hand & eye coordination is required.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Complete training and have working knowledge of sanitation responsibilities for all production lines.
