Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with sanitation and maintenance teams.
  • Sanitize all equipment and clean Production and Warehouse areas including ceilings, walls and floors.
  • CIP system kettles, tanks, lines, pumps, pipes, and related equipment cleaning.
  • Dismantle and reassemble hoses, connections, clamps, pumps, lines or pipes for cleaning as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and parts lubrication as part of sanitation.
  • Manage chemical knowledge and safe handling per MSDS; test concentrations and document results.
  • Ensure safe work habits and proper PPE use.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and maintain orderly work area.
  • Attend to other duties and special projects as assigned.

SUMMARY OF JOB: This position operates CIP (Clean in Place) systems, clean, and maintains audit readiness in assigned areas and other areas of the building Duties and responsibilities. Responsible for sanitizing machinery and cleaning of production and warehouse areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude while working with the sanitation and maintenance teams.
  • Responsible for sanitation of all equipment and cleaning of all areas in Production and Warehouse. Equipment includes machines, pumps, valves and tanks. Areas for cleaning include ceilings, walls, and floors.
  • Cleans by CIP system kettles, tanks, lines, pumps, pipes, floors, walls and other areas and types of equipment as assigned
  • Dismantles and reassembles hoses, connections, clamps, pumps, lines or pipes and clean per Standard Operating Procedures
  • Performs routine maintenance, such as gasket replacement, O-Ring replacement, fill tube straightening, pump seals, lubrication of parts and fitting replacement.
  • Maintains current knowledge for use of all chemicals used. Handles cleaning chemicals according to MSDS and safe handling procedures; Tests chemical concentrations in COP Systems and documents results in titration record.
  • Knowledge and understanding of chemicals, cleanliness, and odors Visual acuity needed for color coded equipment for cleaning and chemicals
  • Mechanical ability required for break down and reassembling of all equipment during sanitation process.
  • Knowledge of safe work habits to ensure proper use of safety equipment provided.
  • Responsible for communicating and working well with fellow employees.
  • Maintain equipment and immediate work area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Cleaning of assigned aisle
  • All other job duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and special projects
Qualifications
  • QUALIFICA TIONS: Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work well with little supervision. Previous sanitation experience as well as mechanical ability desired. Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalency desired.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to communicate to management critical needs and concerns regarding job duties.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability needed to record necessary information.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Thorough understanding of overall job position needed to prioritize required daily duties.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Any mechanical training to assist in breaking down and reassembling machinery is desired.
Physical Demands:
  • All jobs require sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform the required task(s) and typically also require at a minimum: intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may also be required.

Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day. Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may also be required. Employees must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and/or legal requirements. In addition, certain jobs may require employees to:

  • Be exposed to vibrations, chemicals used in operations, fumes and food allergens (may include soy, dairy and other allergens); and
