Job summary

Foster Farms in Compton, CA is hiring a Night Sanitation Associate to clean and sanitize production equipment, packaging machinery, and facility areas to ensure a safe, compliant manufacturing environment in line with USDA regulations and GMPs. You will use high-pressure hoses, cleaning chemicals, disassemble/reassemble equipment, maintain sanitation records, and follow SSOPs and LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational and operational cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, machinery, and production areas.
• Use high-pressure hot water hoses, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation tools to clean equipment and facility surfaces.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and inspection.
• Remove product residue, debris, and waste materials from machinery and work areas.
• Clean floors, drains, walls, conveyors, machine parts, and other production equipment.
• Apply approved cleaning and sanitizing solutions following established procedures.
• Prepare equipment and work areas for production by ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met.
• Review daily cleaning assignments, gather required supplies, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete required sanitation records and documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all food safety, GMP, USDA, safety, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

• Ability to use hand tools, hoses, and sanitation equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery.
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, waterproof gear, and other protective equipment.
