Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner RN to support the Emergency Department in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. This contingent, part-time role requires five 12-hour on-call shifts each month as part of a Level 1 trauma ED serving a large patient load.

Responsibilities include forensic examinations, collaboration with police and counselors, and providing compassionate care to survivors. Certifications will be provided or pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Nursing License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
• BSN may be pursued; commitment to obtain BSN within five years of hire.
• ED/CC/Women's Health/Public Health experience preferred.
• SANE certification or training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• The SANE program provides medical forensic exams and resources for adolescents 12+ who have been sexually assaulted.
• SANE Nurses facilitate the health process and minimize retraumatization during exams.
• SANE Nurses specialize in medical forensic care and can serve as expert witnesses.
• SANE staff collaborate with police, prosecutors, and counselors for coordinated care.
