Job summary

Marian Regional Medical Center, part of Dignity Health, seeks an experienced SART Program Coordinator RN to lead the SANE program for Santa Barbara County. You will manage operations, participate in examiner call rotations in the Emergency Department, and advocate for survivors.

You will perform trauma-informed exams, ensure proper evidence handling with chain of custody, and may provide testimony in court.

Qualifications

• BSN and active RN licensure, with three years of staff nursing experience
• Current BLS
• SANE-A and/or SANE-P certification and prior SANE training (preferred)
• Bilingual skills (preferred)
• Knowledge of rape trauma theory, medico-legal forensic standards, evidence collection, and courtroom testimony protocols

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive operations of the SANE program for Santa Barbara County
• Set administrative direction while remaining clinically engaged and participate in examiner call rotations
• Act as central liaison and advocate with physicians, patients, families, and community partners
• Deliver trauma-informed acute examinations and meticulous evidence collection with strict chain of custody
• Provide expert witness testimony in court and support grant development and reporting
• Develop and refine program protocols, evaluate outcomes, and review SANE charts and documentation
• Collaborate with DA’s SART Coordinator and Santa Barbara County SART Coalition to improve survivor care
