Job summary

Office of the Illinois Attorney General is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse to support, develop and oversee medical forensic services for sexual assault patients statewide. The role emphasizes SANE program knowledge, prevention, and victim advocacy while coordinating training and continuing education for SANEs and nurses.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse at time of application.
• Knowledge of SANE programs, policies and protocols.
• Familiar with forensics, crime lab procedures, and victim advocacy.
• Must complete 40-hour Adult/Adolescent SANE didactic training and clinical training or 40-hour Pediatric/Adolescent SANE didactic training and clinical training.
• Travel and ability to file and duplicate information, bending, stretching, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs required.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist nurses working on Adult/Adolescent and Pediatric/Adolescent SANE clinical requirements.
• Facilitate development of hospital area-wide treatment plans for all sexual assault patients.
• Ensure patients are treated by a SANE or other qualified medical provider, including 24/7 on-call SANE programs.
• Support rural communities in Central and Southern Illinois in developing Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs).
• Support SANE training activities and coordinate continuing education.
• Provide technical assistance for SANEs, nurses training to become SANEs, and others contacting the SANE Program.
• Maintain records and data for grant reporting.
