Velocity Aerospace Group, a PAG subsidiary, has an opening at Velocity EDN in Van Nuys for a Sanding Associate. The role involves surface prep, abrasive blasting, masking, and quality checks on aircraft components, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have strong English communication, basic math skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude, with willingness to work overtime and weekends if needed. Benefits include health and retirement plans.

Velocity Aerospace Group is a subsidiary of Precision Aviation Group (PAG), a full service, inventory supported MRO provider in the aviation industry with 23 domestic and international business units. Velocity operates 3 repair stations, specializing in the repair, overhaul, installation and upgrade of electromechanical, digital, pneumatic, avionic, and gyroscopic components for aircraft operators and maintainers in the commercial/regional airline, government and defense operation, business and general aviation markets.

Location and Position

Velocity EDN in Van Nuys, California offers multiple service options for Large Instrument Panel refurbishments and modifications. Our EDN facility has an opening for a Sanding Associate.

Key Responsibilities

• Abrade surface of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt
• Perform specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment: Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper
• Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action
• Examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications
• Designated as Cabinet-Abrasive Sandblaster; Shotblaster

• Physical requirement: very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing, frequent lifting and/or move items over 50 lbs; ability to perform in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus.

Preferred: 1 year experience in Sanding or Paint preparation will be helpful
