Meineke - 1863 is seeking an experienced Sander, Masker, and Taper to join our automotive paint and body team in Murfreesboro, TN. The role focuses on surface preparation, masking, and coordination with painters to keep production moving.

The ideal candidate has automotive sanding/masking experience, knowledge of surface prep, and a strong work ethic. This fast-paced position requires standing, bending, lifting, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive sanding, masking, or paint prep is preferred.
• Knowledge of sandpaper grits and proper surface-prep techniques.
• Ability to properly mask body lines, jambs, trim, and other vehicle areas.
• Strong attention to detail and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Able to stand, bend, lift, and move around vehicles all day.

• Sand vehicles and body panels to prepare surfaces for paint.
• Mask and tape vehicles accurately before entering the paint booth.
• Cover and protect glass, trim, wheels, lights, and other areas from overspray.
• Prep repaired and primed areas for final paint application.
• Identify surface imperfections that need additional attention.
• Remove masking materials after paint when needed.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Work with painters and body technicians to keep vehicles moving through production.
• Follow shop safety procedures and quality standards.
• Complete work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
