Trident Seafoods is seeking a Dining Hall Foreperson to assist in coordinating food preparation and buffet-style meals for employees, crew and customers. The role includes working under the Head Cook and learning multiple galley tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility requires a Foreperson I background at a Trident location within the past year and a Food Handler’s card due within 30 days of hire; college or technical certificate is preferred along with prior food service experience.

Qualifications

• Has worked in a Foreperson I position in a Trident location in the past year.
• Food Handler’s card; required within 30 days of employment.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related training or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service is preferred; HS Diploma or equivalent acceptable.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for food preparation and mess hall staff.
• Demonstrate flexibility to learn different roles in the galley under supervision.
• Food prep, cleaning, dishwashing, baking, restocking, inventory counts.
• Performs routine deep cleaning of cooking area.
• Washes dishes and cookware, cleans tables and floors, empties trash.
• Maintains a clean working environment.
• Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
• Acquire knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies via training and procedures.
• Notify designated personnel of environmental/safety incidents or risks.

Responsibilities

Summary:

Dining Hall Foreperson assists Head Cook in coordination of food preparation and helps cook buffet style meals for employees/crew/customers

Note: Dining Hall Foreperson II residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

• Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

• Has worked in a Foreperson I position in a trident location in the past year
• Food Handler’s card; required within 30 days of employment

Preferred education and experience

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous experience food service industry preferred.
• HS Diploma or equivalent (or degree, etc.)

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):

This position works in the kitchen where food is prepared and served. This role is subject to standing for long periods of time and must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud. Kitchens are usually crowded and filled with potential dangers, such as hot ovens or slippery floors. Kitchen staff must reduce risk by proper PPE. Gloves, long-sleeve shirts, aprons, and non-slip shoes to reduce the hazards of slips, falls, cuts, and burns.

Physical demands:

This position may be required to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy loads and working in cold environments. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
