Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. is seeking a capable general labor associate at our Beasley, TX facility. You will perform manual labor, assist with loading/unloading, and help move products using hand trucks, forklifts, and other equipment. Safety gear and adherence to policy are required.

The role supports fabrication operations and requires basic math and tape-measure reading skills, with potential overtime to meet production goals. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3 months in a manufacturing, fast-paced, or construction setting.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Teamwork oriented.
• Basic written and verbal skills.
• Understanding and reading of tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving product.
• Work with leads, coordinators, painters and warehouse staff.
• Report equipment malfunctions and other issues.
• Move product using hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, etc.
• Follow manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
• Work with fiberglass in a manufacturing setting.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization throughout the department.
• Ensure proper product identification.
• Use power tools and filler for touch-ups as needed.
• Balance blade products per engineering specs.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned.
• Operate pneumatic tools (angle grinder, orbital sander).
• Keep up with production demand to maintain stock levels.

What Will You Do?

• Performs general manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving product.
• Works with leads, coordinators, painter and warehouse dept.
• Reports equipment malfunction and other issues affecting department.
• Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move product to and from sand and patch to assembly/cart.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures under a manufacturing setting.
• Work involves frequent lifting and working with fiberglass in a manufacturing setting.
• Comply with all CHART policies and procedures.
• Maintains good housekeeping and organization throughout the department.
• Ensure all products have proper identification.
• Use of power tools and Bondo filler to work on touch ups as needed.
• Balancing blade product per engineering specifications.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
• Works with pneumatic tools, including angle grinder, orbital sander, etc.
• Keep up with production demand to maintain minimum stock levels of product.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

• Walking, Standing, Use of hands, Bending, Lifting, Sitting, Etc.
• Indoor working conditions, inside dust booth environment.
• Lifting of materials and product as up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand for long periods of time as up to 12-hour shift as per schedule backlog demand.
• PPE must be worn at all times, Safety glasses, steel toe, ear plugs, cut-impact resistant gloves, full body Tyvek suit, and Power air-purifying respirator hood mask (PARPS).
• Able to work overtime as required as per schedule backlog demand.

Your Experience Should Be...

High School Education or Equivalent

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

3-month manufacturing setting, fast paced environment or construction experience

Manual Dexterity required for operating machinery

Detail oriented and organized

Team-work oriented skills

Basic Written and Verbal Skills
