Doncasters in Groton, Connecticut is seeking a Sandblast Operator to join our precision casting team. You will load, operate, and maintain sandblasting equipment to produce surface finishes that meet strict quality standards, while working with daily shipping plans and production priorities.

Qualified applicants typically have a high school or technical school background and 1–3 years in manufacturing, plus basic shop math.

Responsabilidades

• Operate sandblasting equipment to process castings and apply the required surface finish.
• Load and unload parts, maintain production and quality standards, and perform routine minor maintenance (nozzle changes).
• Identify and report defective materials or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Work independently using daily shipping plans, WIP sheets, and production priorities to support shipping and manufacturing goals.
• Maintain production rates with acceptable quality.
• Assist in basic equipment upkeep and nozzle changes as needed.

The working hours/salary for this role are Monday-Thursday 4:30pm - 3:00am - $18.92/hour

The Role

Under limited supervision, operates sandblasting equipment to process a wide variety of castings in accordance with established procedures and methods. Loads and unloads parts, removes surface contaminants, and applies the required surface finish while maintaining production and quality standards. Performs routine minor maintenance, including nozzle changes and basic equipment upkeep. Identifies and reports defective materials, equipment issues, and unusual operating conditions to supervisors or leads. Works independently using daily shipping plans, WIP sheets, post-cast decision boards, and production priorities to support daily, weekly, and monthly shipping and manufacturing goals. Consistently maintains required production rates with acceptable quality standards.
