Job summary

Automation Personnel Services in Columbus, MS is seeking a Sand Blaster to prepare metal surfaces using abrasive blasting equipment including plastic media, steel shot, and glass bead blasting. This is a full-time position with on-site work.

The role offers $16.00 per hour, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, temporary to hire with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of blasting experience preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools, small power tools, test equipment and willingness to learn.
• 50 pound lift assessment.

Responsibilities

• Blasts metal surfaces clean to prepare for paint applications.
• Grinds, sands, cleans or polishes objects or parts to prepare surfaces for finishing using hand and power tools.
• Moves controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during blasting or grinding processes.
• Monitors machine operations to detect problems and makes adjustments as needed.
• Moves levers or controls to operate lifting devices and transport materials.

SAND BLASTER

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Sand Blaster for a company based in Columbus, MS. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for preparing various metal surfaces using a variety of abrasive blasting equipment including but not limited to traditional, plastic media, steel shot, and glass bead blasting.

Pay Rate
$16.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8 00 am to 5 00 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Blasts metal surfaces clean to prepare them for paint applications
• Grinds, sands, cleans or polishes objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing using hand tools and power tools
• Moves controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during blasting or grinding processes
• Observes machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems
• Moves levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts to lift beams, load, unload, transport or stack materials
