Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking associates for general manual labor tasks at our Lexington, VA facility. You will load, unload and move materials, assisting with various manufacturing processes and maintaining safe operations.

Required is a High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of experience. You will follow established instructions under supervision and participate in TPM activities and quality checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of related experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to perform general manual labor and lift up to typical weights in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Wrap and protect leads from paint.
• Operate hoists and power lift trucks to move units.
• Sand and prep units for final audit.
• Assist setup sequencing and monitor processes.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Follow safety practices and TPM checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or team leader.
• Inspect frames for pits or scratches and apply body filler if needed.

Job Description

Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Duties & Responsibilities Information:

• Wrap and protect leads from paint


• Uses hoists and power lift trucks to move units


• Uses sanding equipment to sand and prep units for final audit


• Makes general decisions as to setup sequences and process monitoring


• Exercises good housekeeping in work area


• Observes good safety practices in performance of job


• Performs daily/weekly TPM tasks and completes checksheets


• Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader


• Inspect frames for pits or scratches and apply body filler if needed

Necessary Skills:

• Read and write, follow written process instructions, record information as required.
