  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of sanctions screening strategies and controls across customer and merchant onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and transaction screening in accordance with applicable compliance requirements, business needs, product requirements, and jurisdictional considerations.
  • Translate business and compliance requirements into documented screening requirements, including screening scope, required data fields, list selection, screening rules, routing, and decision logic.

  • Support the development and enhancement of dashboards, automated control checks, testing workflows, and reporting processes to improve screening oversight, issue detection, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain control inventories, requirements documentation, testing evidence, and remediation records.
  • Support internal control reviews, audits, and regulatory information requests, and escalate material control gaps or unresolved issues to appropriate sanctions leadership.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in sanctions compliance, financial crime risk strategy, risk controls, or screening system implementation within fintech, banking, payments, e-commerce, or other financial services environments.
  • Working knowledge of sanctions requirements and screening practices, including OFAC, UN, EU, and UK sanctions frameworks, customer and transaction screening, sanctions list management, and alert generation.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: screening scenario or rule configuration, business requirements documentation, system implementation and UAT, control testing, screening optimization, or data quality monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate compliance requirements into practical system and process controls.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, reconciliation, and analysis, with the ability to investigate screening performance and data quality issues.
  • Experience with Python, BI tools, automated testing, or reporting workflows is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to independently manage assigned work and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across different regions and time zones.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills required to document compliance requirements, prepare control and testing documentation, and collaborate with global cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Professional Chinese communication skills required to collaborate with Chinese-speaking business and operational stakeholders and support cross-border compliance and screening activities.
