Job summary

L&C Food Distribution Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, pack, and verify orders with attention to product details and weights. You will manage storage layouts, prepare pallet space, and ensure accurate inventory control.

You will adhere to safety protocols, maintain freezer/cooler areas, and operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks as part of daily duties, assisting teammates with staging and stock counting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Experience operating electric forklift and pallet jack safely.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items, and work in refrigerated environments if required.
• Punctual, deadline-conscious, and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Receive, pack and verify orders based on pick lists and product weights.
• Manage inventory by organizing products and creating pallet space.
• Report inventory discrepancies or damages promptly and follow safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of freezer/cooler and monitor cooling units.
• Safely operate forklift and pallet jack inside and outside the freezer/cooler; assist team members in loading/unloading and inventory counting.

About The Role

Receive frozen/fresh products accurately and promptly, verifying quantity, description. Pack orders based on given pick list, weight of products, and if it contains ice. Manage inventory by reorganizing products to designated storage areas and create available pallet space when needed. Report any inventory discrepancies or damages to product or facility promptly. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during the course of work. Maintain the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the freezer/cooler and report any anomalies to the cooling units. Wear required temperature resistant attire for the freezer/cooler (if necessary). Safely operate the electric forklift and pallet jack riders within and outside the freezer/cooler. Assist team members in picking, staging, unloading, rotating, and counting of inventory.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid driver’s license and clean record.
• Proven experience in operating electric forklift and pallet jack safely and responsibly.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy items as required.
• Ability to work in freezer/refrigerated environments (if necessary).
• Values time, and understands the importance of meeting deadlines.
• Collaborative person who can function well in a team-based environment.
