Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer to join a skilled team focused on world-class process/equipment and yield enhancement. You will analyze data, qualify equipment, and implement improvements in a fast-paced fab environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, coordinating qualifications, and updating SOPs, with a strong emphasis on problem solving and cost reduction. Must be able to lift under 35 lbs and wear PPE in cleanroom settings.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science with GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues.
• Qualify new manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate scheduling of equipment qualifications and down time with manufacturing.
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends and make processing decisions.
• Adjust equipment parameters as needed and monitor process when tools return from maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicate technical information within the department via presentations.
• Continuously revise SOPs to reflect improvements.
• Develop improved processes to increase capability and reduce costs.

Position Summary

Seeking an equipment engineer interested in working alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world class process/equipment and implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage along with ability to identify complex problems and implementing solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Monitoring the wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 2+ years work experience
• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science w/3.0 GPA or higher
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Experience with Change Point Management
• Good Presentation and Technical Writing skills
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Exposure to Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Experience with Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.
• Experience Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS FAB protocol and be able to lift < 35 lbs

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000.00 - $120,000.00. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
