Geocomp and GeoTesting Express is seeking a Sample Receiving Laboratory Assistant to support the receipt, documentation, organization, and coordination of laboratory samples in Elmsford, NY. Join a collaborative team and gain hands-on experience with geotechnical testing equipment and processes.

You will engage in sample login, labeling, and coordination with technicians and clients, while maintaining storage, logs, and proper documentation in a safety-focused lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients regarding testing programs.
• Label and barcode samples.
• Deliver rush samples to appropriate technicians.
• Relay pertinent information to technicians regarding testing programs.
• Coordinate with lab managers when necessary.
• Retrieve shipped samples from delivery and client drop offs.
• Locate/identify appropriate testing lab to do testing.
• Coordinate sample pickup/shipment to subcontractor labs.
• Production testing as needed.
• Ensure sample storage area is properly maintained in a timely manner.
• Maintain contaminated sample log.
• Contact clients regarding sample return.
• Coordinate pickups/shipments to client.

Geocomp’s GeoTesting Express (GTX) is seeking a Sample Receiving Laboratory Assistant to join our Soil and Rock Testing Laboratory in Elmsford, NY. In this role, you will support the receipt, documentation, organization, and coordination of laboratory samples and testing activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to launch their career in geotechnical testing. You will gain hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art automated testing equipment, advanced processes, and real‑world projects that support site characterization, geotechnical design, quality control, and performance assessment.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Login

• Coordinate with clients in regards to their testing program

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

This position is based in a laboratory environment and requires the ability to bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand and/or sit for extended periods at a lab bench or desk.
