The successful applicant will work with special nuclear material, including sub-sampling, nuclear material accounting (LIMS/LANMAS), shipping preparation, and nuclear waste management at one of three locations: TA-55 plutonium facility (PF-4)/CMR facility and/or PF-400 (RLUOB) facility. Responsibilities may also include sample preparation for various chemical techniques following established procedures. Maintaining QA/QC documentation and records is required. The candidate will collaborate with technicians, technologists, and scientists in a production-oriented environment focused on nuclear material characterization, product certification, and process improvements to maximize chemistry resource efficiency in support of the production mission.
This position will be filled at either Research Technician 3 or 4 level, depending on the candidate's skills. Higher-level responsibilities are outlined below:

Associate's degree in a relevant field with 3 years (level 3) or 5 years (level 4) of related experience, or equivalent.
Work is onsite in Los Alamos, NM, in a safety-sensitive, nuclear environment with radiation and chemical hazards. The position requires compliance with safety protocols and HRP. The role supports the Laboratory’s national security missions.
