Qualifications

  • Master's degree required (M.A., M.F.T., M.S.W.)
  • 3 years of clinical experience
  • 4 years’ experience with children and caregivers
  • 1 year of experience with trauma-based population preferred
  • Must hold CT state LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
  • ARC training within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose mental, emotional, developmental, and behavioral difficulties in children and families in outpatient settings
  • Monitor productivity and track short- and long-term goals
  • Assess risk, respond to crises, and determine appropriate level of care
  • Formulate and review treatment plans
  • Provide client-centered, strength-based clinical services to children and families
  • Attend weekly supervision and departmental meetings
  • Coordinate services with schools, DCF, courts, and other providers
  • Support caregiver understanding of child development and parenting skills
  • Provide on-call on-site support during operating hours and arrange referrals as needed

We are currently seeking a SAMHSA Clinician II who will provide clinical assessment, treatment and client centered care consistent with quality standards of care including evidence-based practices that result in improved health outcomes for clients primarily focused on ages 0-6 regarding psychological, behavioral or emotional problems in this grant funded program.

Hours of Operation: Open 8:00am - 7:00pm; Hours Vary By Day & Location. (We are also open on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month). Expected Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week.

Outline Of Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assess, evaluate and diagnose mental, emotional, developmental and behavioral difficulties in children and families based on clinical standard of practice in outpatient-based setting.
  • Manage and monitor individual productivity through weekly monitoring of short-term and long-term goals.
  • Assess level of risk and need, respond to crises, and implement an appropriate level of care
  • Formulate treatment plans and treatment plan reviews based on assessments.
  • Provide clinical/consultative treatment services that are strength based and client centered to children and families.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervisions as well as any other departmental meetings.
  • Coordinate services with other relevant providers involved in a given case (e.g., school personnel, Department of Children and Families, courts, etc.)
  • Support caregiver understanding of child development, attachment, and parenting skills
  • Provide on-call support on site during hours of operation for connected and non-connected clients. Includes, but is not exclusive to arranging for referrals to other levels of care or emergency response, reporting suspected child abuse/neglect to DCF, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for standards of care.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's degree - M.A., M.F.T., M.S.W.
  • 3 years of clinical experience
  • 4 years’ experience working with children and caregivers
  • 1 year of experience working with a trauma-based population highly preferred
Minimum Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must hold a CT state LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
  • Completion of ARC training within 6 months of hire
  • Eligible to obtain ARC Certified or training completed

  • Access to transportation for travel to other UCFS sites in Griswold, Norwich, New London, and Plainfield, CT as needed
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in EHR – EPIC highly preferred.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
