POSITION TITLE: Same-Day Medical Provider

DEPARTMENT: Medical

NATURE OF POSITION: The Same-Day Medical Provider delivers comprehensive medical services to patients requiring prompt evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses, minor injuries, and other urgent, non-emergency health concerns. This provider is responsible for providing timely access to care through same-day appointments, ensuring patients receive efficient, patient-centered treatment while supporting continuity of care within the clinic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of formal accredited medical or osteopathic school
  • Must be licensed by Oklahoma State Board of Licensure of Supervision
  • Has completed Residency in Primary Care
  • Experienced in ambulatory care settings
  • Interest and/or experience in collaboration with interdisciplinary health teams
  • Possesses medical skills at a high level of competency
  • Maintains current continuing medical education and requirements for privileging
  • Must possess current DEA and OBNDD licenses
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in the provision of first contact care and coordination of continuity of care to clients of all ages
  • Participates in the coordination of community agencies and/or resources in providing continuity of care
  • Participates in the continuing education of the medical staff
  • Participate in individual client or family education or counseling activities in collaboration with other members of The Clinic’s interdisciplinary team
  • Assists with development and implementation of medical care policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing standards, practices, and funding source regulations
  • Assists with overall coordination and administration of clinic health care services and activities including clinical indicators, health care plan and performance improvement
  • Assists in making patient services more accessible, effective and efficient, striving to minimize unnecessary costs
  • All other duties as assigned
Specific Functions
  • Elicits a chief complaint, history of present illness, patient profile, past medical history, family history and review of systems, including social, economic and emotional data
  • Performs a physical examination, using the skills of auscultation, percussion, palpation and inspection
  • Determines final disposition of client and makes appropriate referrals to other resources when necessary
  • Provides follow-up care for monitoring health and disease state, evaluating progress of each problem including patient education
  • Participates in clinical audit
  • Provides services for The Clinic’s clients in collaboration with other physicians
  • All other duties as assigned
