Job summary

Goodwill of Sacramento Valley & Northern NV is seeking a Salvage Processor I at one of our outlet locations. You will assist in processing salvage materials, sorting, rotating and moving items through the salvage process while upholding the mission and safety standards.

This full-time, non-exempt role includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance; a 403(b) plan; paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Outlet Operations Warehouse Manager, the Salvage Processor I is responsible for assisting in the overall processing of salvage materials at one of the Goodwill outlet locations. The Salvage Processor I will process materials that are being recycled from our stores and sold out of our outlets or to salvage vendors. This position will have a variety of responsibilities including moving, sorting, rotating and disposing of salvage materials. The Salvage Processor I is continually upholding and advancing the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sorts and grades salvage materials by separating into quality level (Outlet or Salvage).
• Rotates salvage tables into and out of the outlet sales floor.
• Moves salvage materials to the various stations of the salvage process.
• Manually places salvage materials into various machines of the salvage process.
• Adheres to all Goodwill safety requirements which includes wearing (Personal Protective Equipment) PPE while processing salvage at all times.
• Performs housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of processing area, interior and exterior of the facility.
• Performs necessary record keeping pertaining to daily activities and other reports as needed in a neat and legible manner.
• Provides necessary customer service while projecting a positive image during public contact.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
• Ensures compliance with all Goodwill Industries® Sacramento Valley Northern Nevada policies, CARF standards, and safety and security regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have knowledge of safety standards including proper lifting techniques.
• Must have an inclination toward repetitive and routine tasks.
• Must have the ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
• Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the Salvage Processor I job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must have the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
