Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a State & Local Tax Intern to deliver tax advisory and compliance services across multi-state issues. This role offers hands‑on experience and exposure to a coast‑to‑coast client base within a leading advisory firm.

Currently enrolled in an Accounting or related program, you will gain practical tax knowledge, participate in a formal training program, and develop client service and technical skills that prepare you for a potential full‑time Associate

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or a related business discipline.
• JD/LLM preferred.
• No prior professional experience required; internship, academic, leadership, volunteer, or customer service experience is a plus.
• On track to CPA exam eligibility and/or Bar exam prior to start.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in state and local taxation (SALT).
• Maintain and expand knowledge base on multi-state tax issues; conduct research and prepare memoranda.
• Assist with tax compliance and advisory tasks, including research and documentation for internal clients.
• Participate in intern orientation and training to build technical and professional skills.
• Learn from experienced associates, seniors, managers and partners across industries.
• Develop client service skills and professional relationships with colleagues.
