Job summary

Warren Averett seeks an experienced Sales and Use Tax professional (CPA preferred) to lead multistate SALT engagements from our Tampa office. You will advise on nexus, taxability, exemption management, and audits, while delivering strategic solutions for clients.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in public accounting or corporate tax, excellent communication, and a track record of mentoring staff and growing client relationships. This is a client-facing, growth-oriented role in a leading CPA firm.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• 5+ years of public accounting, consulting, or corporate tax experience with focus on SALT.
• Strong knowledge of multistate sales and use tax rules and regulations.
• Experience researching SALT issues and communicating conclusions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review multistate sales and use tax compliance engagements.
• Advise clients on nexus, taxability, exemption management, and transaction structuring.
• Conduct state and local tax research and provide written and verbal recommendations.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential exposures in SALT for clients.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor associates; review work and provide feedback.
