KPMG LLP in New York seeks a Senior Associate to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. You will participate in multi-state tax issues for hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and other entities, including compliance, planning, and controversies.

You will review state returns, draft technical memos, and help manage client relationships while mentoring junior staff. A JD, MST, or related degree is preferred along with strong writing and tax research skills.

Qualificações

• Two years minimum experience performing tax research and preparing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities.
• Solid knowledge of multi-state tax concepts and issues.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Strong writing, compliance, communication and tax research skills.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in multi-state tax issues for alternative investment firms and multi-state companies (compliance, planning, controversies).
• Prepare and review state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities.
• Represent clients in discussions with auditors and during hearings/appeals.
• Draft technical memoranda on income, franchise, and sales/use tax questions.
• Build and manage client relationships; supervise and mentor staff.
