Job summary

Communities In Schools of Jacksonville, Inc. is hiring an Enrichment Team Member to support our afterschool program in Jacksonville, FL. The role is part-time (15–25 hours weekly) and focuses on supervision, tutoring, and engaging enrichment activities with students.

You'll work in a fast-paced, energetic environment, collaborate with teachers and staff, and help students stay on track toward graduation while promoting safety and positive behavior.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Background screening with Duval County Schools and the Department of Children and Families.
• Experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality supervision to students in the program.
• Offer academic tutoring to students who struggle academically.
• Carry out planned enrichment activities while engaging with students.
• Assist during special events, snack service, and dinner service.
• Complete CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Complete Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.
• Acquire DCF 40 hours within 90 days of hire.
• Maintain positive relationships with program staff, school faculty, parents, and students.
• Serve as a positive role model to students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Position Title/Type: Teacher

Number of hours per week:15 to 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday,Afternoon Shift

Work Environment: This position requires an individual who can work in a fast, high-energy environment with numerous distractions and stay focused. The safety of students is an integral part of our work and of the utmost importance; thus, planning and preparation are paramount. Duties may frequently require activities outside in varying weather conditions; employees may be exposed to sunny, wet, humid, or other conditions beyond their immediate control.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• A high school diploma or GED
• Successfully passed background screening with Duval County Schools and the Department of Children and Families
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred
• Must have reliable transportation
