Job summary

Communities In Schools Jacksonville is seeking an Enrichment Team Member (Teacher) for our afterschool program in Jacksonville, FL. This part-time role offers 15–25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, afternoons, with responsibilities including supervision, tutoring, and enrichment activities.

You will work in a fast-paced, energetic environment, helping students stay on track for graduation and overcome obstacles to success.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Successfully passed background screening with Duval County Schools and the Department of Children and Families.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality supervision to students in the program.
• Provides academic tutoring assistance to students who struggle academically.
• Carries out planned enrichment activities while being engaged with students.
• Assists during special events, snack service, and dinner service.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications,
• Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of the hire date.
• DCF 40 hours required within 90 days of hire.
• Maintains a positive relationship with the Program Manager, Lead Teachers, school faculty, parents, and students.
• Serves as a positive role model to students.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Director of Afterschool and Assistant Director

Work Environment: This position requires an individual who can work in a fast, high-energy environment with numerous distractions and stay focused. The safety of students is an integral part of our work and of the utmost importance; thus, planning and preparation are paramount. Duties may frequently require activities outside in varying weather conditions; employees may be exposed to sunny, wet, humid, or other conditions beyond their immediate control.
