Overview
Entry‑level Salesperson/Store Driver position supporting the DIY business and delivering parts to commercial customers. The role can be part‑time or full‑time and requires fleet safety certification.
Primary Responsibilities (Salesperson)
- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customers during in‑store visits and over the phone.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its overall sales targets.
- Perform DIY services such as battery installation, testing, wiper blade installation, and other basic automotive maintenance.
- Maintain store product and operational standards, including inventory processes (put‑away, cycle counts, backstock).
Primary Responsibilities (Store Driver)
- Safely deliver parts to commercial customers and support order pick‑up and return processes.
- Stage parts for customer orders and perform weekly/monthly flyer drop‑offs.
- Maintain daily collections of credit accounts.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Ensure store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, front, dusting, parking lot).
- Participate in general stocking activities, including truck stocking and backstock.
Success Factors & Essential Job Skills
- Basic driving and navigation ability; fleet safety certification required.
- Proficient with delivery board systems and inventory software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English; Spanish a plus.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to work varied days, evenings, and weekends.
- Knowledge of automotive parts, basic automotive systems, and diagnostic equipment.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of sales experience in a diverse retail environment.
- Automotive parts experience preferred for Store Driver.
- Valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Physical Demands
The job requires frequent walking, standing, talking, hearing, and handling objects. Employees must lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is performed mainly indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moving mechanical parts. Employees may encounter toxic chemicals, electrical shock hazards, and moderate noise levels.
Compensation
Estimated hourly range: $14.50 – $15.41. Pay is based on geographic location, experience, education, and role responsibilities.
