Job summary

Goodwill Industries of San Diego County is hiring a Sales Person I to support daily store operations, assist donors, and create a welcoming shopping environment.

You will ring transactions, handle cash, stock shelves, process donations, and collaborate with team to ensure product displays are inviting.

The role requires a high school diploma (or GED) and at least 6 months of relevant work experience; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of recent work experience or completion of GISD employment program.
• Basic math and cash handling knowledge.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to shoppers and donors.
• Ring purchases accurately and follow cash handling policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe sales floor and assist with merchandising.
• Assist with processing donations and stock transfers as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides excellent customer service, rings transactions accurately, and assists in store recovery, cleaning and merchandising. Works to fill floor with new arrivals, and removal of merchandise. Accepts donations and assists with production as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Provides excellent customer service to customers/donors. Refers to management any concerns or complaints.
• Accurately rings purchases and follows all cash handling policies and procedures. Maintains the sales floor safe, clean, and organized.
• Assists different areas of the store, such as processing and receiving donations. Safeguards company property, including donated goods.
• Places merchandise on display. Takes inventory of stock and pulls merchandise for transfer as directed by management, Sales II or Key Holder.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education

Experience for Sales Person I

Minimum of 6 months of recent work experience or successful completion of a GISD employment program.
