Overview
The NAM Precious Metals Solutions Senior Salesperson is an experienced professional responsible for developing our precious metals franchise in the Americas. This role involves managing client relationships, originating new solutions, and collaborating across teams to drive revenue and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Institutional and Corporate clients in the Americas, focusing on sales origination, cross-selling, and retention.
- Originate and develop bespoke precious metals solutions, working with Structuring to combine investing, financing, hedging, and physical trading.
- Grow the Precious Metals P&L by overseeing the sales process from origination to revenue realization.
- Serve as the primary regional contact for clients, enhancing product offerings and deepening wallet penetration.
- Identify client needs that can be addressed through Structured Commodities products.
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to expand Citi's market presence and revenue.
- Collaborate with internal teams to position and close transactions, leveraging Citi’s franchise.
- Lead deal teams and coordinate with Relationship Managers, Trading, Structuring, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure professional client management, including account planning, pipeline management, and relationship reviews.
- Maintain market knowledge through conferences and industry updates.
- Promote multi-product and cross-regional solutions, overseeing proposal creation and deal review.
- Ensure effective communication within the global team via CRM, reports, and emails.
- Drive customer loyalty and satisfaction with Citi’s commodities platform.
- Address operational and customer service issues, including escalations.
- Maintain governance, controls, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Foster a culture of responsible finance, ethics, and expense discipline.
- Assess risk/reward of transactions, ensuring proper risk management and compliance.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in Precious Metals Sales/Structuring at a Financial Institution or Trading House.
- Strong understanding of physical precious metals and financing.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of regulations, market practices, and bank operations.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and pragmatic.
- Leadership ability to coordinate across teams.
- Experience in product, sales, or business management.
- Willingness to travel and obtain necessary licenses (Series 3, 7, 55, 63).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
