Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the IT Platforms team. The role focuses on implementing and supporting enterprise platform solutions, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring security and performance across multiple environments.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Computer Science or related field with 3-5 years of systems engineering experience. Hybrid work with in-office presence 1-2 days per week is available.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the implementation and support of technical solutions, including platform systems that require critical aspects of infrastructure, network, application, database, and security frameworks.
• Manage day-to-day operations of enterprise platforms, including applications, servers, storage, and networked services.
• Monitor and optimize platform performance, availability, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues across multiple environments.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new platforms and services.
• Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
• Support security hardening and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and technical projects.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Strong understanding of data structure and database systems.
• Intermediate scripting and automation skills to streamline operational tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
• Experience with system monitoring tools and interpreting performance data.
• Understanding of system security concepts and the implementation of security-leading practices.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Salesforce Developer Certifications Preferred: Platform Developer 1, Platform Developer 2, Javascript Certified Developer
• Salesforce Administrator Certifications Preferred: Administrator 201, Administrator 301 preferred.
• Experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages: Java experience required.
• Experience with .NET Core, C#, React, MVC, HTML/JavaScript/Ajax, and XML preferred.
• Experience with the Lightning Framework and the creation of Lightning Web Components.
• Experience with responsive UI design utilizing frameworks like Bootstrap preferred.
• Experience with Relational Database design and development using MS SQL Server.
• Experience developing Integration Web Services with RESTful and SOAP protocols.
• Experience with APIs, Integration principles (ideally including Epic).
• Proficiency with developing reports is desired.
• Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Team Foundation Server, Azure Dev Ops, and SharePoint is desired.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum or CMMI software development methodologies is desired.
